Chapter 2575: Walk Your Own Path, You Can Retire Slowly
Leisure Immortal Island.
Carson Flores and Cassiane Sinclair had just set foot on the island when they saw Alfred Weaver flying over like a joyful bolt of lightning.
"Brother!"
Carson hugged Alfred and laughed, "It’s been a long time, how have you been?"
Alfred pouted and said, "All of you ran off, leaving me alone on the island to watch the house, it’s so unfair!"
Carson asked in surprise, "Wasn’t Mary Jimenez with you?"
Alfred blinked and whispered, "Sister Mary left me a letter and sneaked away."
Carson asked in surprise, "Where did she go?"
"She didn’t say."
Alfred replied, "She just said her cultivation was stuck. She’s looking for a way to break through the bottleneck and wanted me to tell you not to worry about her. It might take a while, but she’ll be back once she’s done."
Carson sighed inwardly. The women around him were all very independent and not the kind to rely on men as fragile flowers. Carson couldn’t stop them from doing what they wanted to do.
"Have Samantha and Noran not returned yet?"
"No, not yet."
Alfred replied helplessly, "I’m the only one on the island, though luckily Cirelle and the others kept me company, or else it’d be too lonely."
When she said "the only one," she naturally meant family and sisters, excluding her, there were also Mr. Singleton, Cirelle Moonshadow, Browning, and the others.
"Are they all well?"
Alfred nodded, "They’re fine."
Carson was referring to their Longevity Lamps. Everyone, including Carson, had a lamp at home as a safety indicator.
As long as the Longevity Lamp was shining normally, it meant its owner was safe. If the flame flickered weakly, it meant they were seriously injured and weak, possibly near death. If the flame went out, it meant the person had died.
By the lakeside cabin, Ben Singleton came out and glanced at Carson, his eyes slightly surprised.
This young man has improved so much again!
He’s already a Great Land Immortal, isn’t he?
It’s only been a few years since he left, how has he improved so drastically?
Ben remembered clearly, the last time Carson left Leisure Immortal Island to go to the Azure Divine Sect, he had just entered the Fifth Realm. And in just about four years, Carson has reached the level of a Great Land Immortal.
Ordinary cultivators, never mind breaking through, would take decades, even hundreds of years, just to go from the Fifth Realm to its peak.
He really wondered how Carson cultivated.
Carson waved to Ben and said, "Mr. Singleton, long time no see."
Ben smiled and said, "You’ve improved a lot."
Carson laughed heartily, "Just luck, just luck, it was a narrow escape; I almost couldn’t make it back."
Ben asked curiously, "With all your tricks and the various tokens from top powerhouses you have, who could trouble you?"
"The Sea God."
Everyone here was family, so there was no need to hide anything.
As soon as he said this, both Ben and Alfred’s expressions changed.
Alfred asked in surprise, "The Sea God Sect Leader?"
Carson nodded, "That’s right."
Alfred exclaimed, "How did you end up against the Sea God? Aren’t you a Disciple of the Dragon Mountain Sect? Wouldn’t the Sea God fear starting a sect war over trying to kill you?"
Carson explained the situation, and Ben and Alfred both listened intently, their expressions constantly changing.
Alfred was in awe, "That True Sage Grand Void is incredible, the Sea God was directly suppressed by him in an instant?"
Ben showed a bitter smile, shook his head, and said nothing.
He had seen the Incarnation of True Sage Grand Void in the Secret Realm. At that time, Ben had been angry because True Sage Grand Void "forcibly took" the Mirror of Elemental Harmony, and he had once said he would seek justice one day.
Now, hearing Carson’s tale of True Sage Grand Void crossing the Star River and suppressing the Sea God in an instant, Ben realized the insurmountable gap in strength between himself and True Sage Grand Void.
His strength surely wasn’t a match for the Sea God, who was easily suppressed, so how could he compare?
Truly, there’s always a mountain taller than the last.
Seeing the bitterness on Ben’s face, Carson roughly guessed his thoughts and reassured him, "True Sage Grand Void is a Quasi-Saint, and his primary path is the Dao of Space, incomparable to ordinary Great Land Immortals. No need to take it to heart, Mr. Singleton."
Ben nodded, smiled, and said, "You really have some capability. Last time it was Quasi-Saint Thyris Lucerne, and this time, you had Quasi-Saint True Sage Grand Void, who directly eliminated the Sea God. Who will it be next?"
Carson replied with a wry smile, "I’ve used up my biggest trump cards now. If I go far away next time, my mentors might not be able to help me, and I might not survive."
Ben frowned, "Where are you planning to go?"
Carson replied, "I’m planning to take a trip to the West Prison..."
After explaining why he wanted to go to the West Prison, Ben offered, "Would you like me to accompany you?"
Carson laughed, "No, it’s a path I need to walk on my own. You stay here and enjoy a leisurely life, Mr. Singleton!"
