The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!

Chapter 244: Reinforcements?

Chapter 244: Reinforcements?

Boom!

The kick landed squarely against the creature’s chest and sent it crashing through a tree trunk.

However, she didn’t even look at the result.

A shrill scream suddenly erupted behind her.

"SKREEEEEEEE!"

The soundwaves swept through the forest.

The surrounding snow exploded into the air.

Song Meilin immediately activated Night Cloak.

Spiritual energy wrapped around her body like a thin veil. The mental shock still reached her, causing her head to buzz slightly, but the damage was greatly reduced.

At the same time, another Pishacha lunged from the side.

Its claw glowed with dark energy.

Song Meilin’s pupils contracted.

She didn’t dare receive that attack directly.

The dark energy coating the claws was the most troublesome aspect of these creatures. Even a Foundation Building cultivator’s body would be torn apart if struck cleanly.

She bent backwards.

The claw swept across her face.

A few strands of hair drifted into the air.

The attack missed by less than an inch.

Then Song Meilin retaliated instantly.

Her left hand clenched the sword.

"Lunar Arts: Moon Breaking Fist!"

The technique was integrated directly into her sword.

The blade thrust forward like a silver meteor.

Puchi!

The sword pierced through the Pishacha’s shoulder and blasted it backwards.

Unfortunately, before she could follow up, three more Pishachas were already rushing toward her.

Song Meilin immediately retreated.

A silver arc flashed through the air. The derivative flying slash she had developed from the Crescent Split Kick shot forward.

Whoosh!

The crescent-shaped blade of energy forced the monsters back temporarily, buying her precious breathing room. However, her expression became increasingly serious.

The battle had only lasted several minutes.

Yet she could already feel the difference.

The Pishachas weren’t slowing down.

Their attacks remained as fierce as ever.

Meanwhile, her spiritual energy was steadily decreasing.

’This can’t continue.’

Song Meilin’s eyes swept across the battlefield.

Broken trees. Craters in the snow mixed with dirt.

Deep claw marks carved into the earth.

The entire surrounding terrain had already become a battlefield.

She attempted to break through twice. But both attempts failed.

The Pishachas relentlessly chased her every time she found a gap.

They weren’t acting like mindless monsters. Their coordination was terrifying.

Almost as if they understood how to hunt. Did these pishachas mutate?

A trace of anxiety appeared in Song Meilin’s heart.

Why hadn’t reinforcements arrived yet?

She had already sent a distress signal.

The sect should’ve noticed by now.

Unless...

Something had happened there, too.

That possibility caused her heart to sink.

Then another thought surfaced.

Qingyun’s daughter and that future son-in-law. They might be in danger.

Song Meilin clenched her jaw.

’Please don’t come here.’

’Turn around and go back.’

If those two youngsters arrived in the middle of this battle, they would only become additional casualties.

She had rushed here specifically to protect them.

Instead, she was now trapped herself.

BOOM!

A Pishacha smashed into the ground where she had stood a moment earlier.

The resulting shockwave interrupted her thoughts.

Song Meilin immediately moved.

Her figure flashed through the forest.

The six Pishachas pursued relentlessly.

The battle continued.

Ten minutes.

Twenty minutes.

Every clash consumed spiritual energy.

And every dodge demanded her absolute concentration.

One mistake could be fatal.

Gradually, exhaustion accumulated. Her breathing became heavier.

Her sleeves were stained with blood from several shallow wounds.

One scratch ran along her shoulder. Another across her waist.

None were serious.

But they all served as reminders.

She was losing ground.

The Pishachas showed no signs of exhaustion whatsoever.

As though they could continue fighting forever.

Song Meilin understood something.

If this dragged on longer, her death was certain.

A calm look gradually appeared in her eyes.

All the fear and hesitation disappeared.

If she couldn’t survive... then she would take as many of these monsters with her as possible.

The next time a Pishacha lunged toward her, Song Meilin suddenly stopped retreating.

She stepped forward instead.

The creature’s claw swept downward.

Song Meilin performed a backflip, narrowly avoiding the strike.

At the same time, she spotted another Pishacha attempting to attack from her blind spot.

A sharp light flashed through her eyes.

’Got you.’

She instantly closed the distance.

The monster reacted quickly.

Its claw collided with her sword.

Clang!

This time, however, Song Meilin didn’t retreat.

Her sword locked the Pishacha’s claw in place.

The monster struggled violently.

Then—

Brilliant white energy gathered around Song Meilin’s blade.

The surrounding spiritual energy surged toward her.

The Pishacha finally sensed danger.

But it was too late.

"Lunar Arts: Moon Fall Piercer!"

A beam of dazzling white light erupted point-blank.

BOOOOOOM!

The attack struck the Pishacha directly.

Unlike ordinary techniques, Moon Fall Piercer concentrated overwhelming destructive power into a single strike.

The monster didn’t even have time to scream.

Its body rapidly disintegrated beneath the white beam. Then vanished completely.

Not even the ashes remained. One Pishacha was dead.

Song Meilin’s face paled slightly. This attack consumed a tremendous amount of spiritual energy.

The remaining five monsters, however, didn’t care. The moment their companion died, they attacked simultaneously.

Song Meilin immediately launched several flying slashes to force them back while creating distance.

Her mind raced rapidly.

’Two more Moon-Fall Piercers.’

’At most three.’

That was her remaining limit.

If she could eliminate some more Pishachas, her chances of survival might improve slightly.

But plans couldn’t keep up with the changes.

Just as Song Meilin was preparing to gather spiritual energy for another Moon Fall Piercer, her instincts suddenly screamed in warning.

Several sharp whooshing sounds echoed through the forest behind her.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Her expression changed slightly.

Another enemy? Or, Reinforcements?

Before she could even turn around—

Dozens of metallic bands shot across the battlefield at astonishing speed.

The target wasn’t her.

They were the five remaining Pishachas.

Puchi! Puchi! Puchi!

The metal bands pierced directly through their bodies.

The Pishachas immediately let out furious shrieks.

However, the attack didn’t stop there. The metal suddenly lost its solid form.

Like a living liquid, it flowed rapidly across the monsters’ bodies.
