Chapter 49 How could an actor be without cunning?
On the other side, Jiang Youzhen was called over to the film crew as soon as he got home. Fortunately, he had a suitcase full of souvenirs. He picked out two bags and put them aside before heading to the film set.
Huang Renlei now unconsciously smiles like a chrysanthemum whenever he sees Jiang Youzhen. Jiang Jingshu came with Jiang Youzhen, and when she saw Huang Renlei's expression, the corner of her mouth twitched.
This woman truly adores her son!
Jiang Youzhen first gave gifts to Huang Renlei and several of his fellow actors, and then asked the assistant director to distribute the remaining gifts, thus fulfilling his daily social obligations.
It was already dark outside, but the film set was still bustling with activity. They had just flown back from Northern Europe in the afternoon and were already back to work that night. They really didn't give them any rest time at all.
Despite his complaints, Jiang Youzhen only thought about them to himself. He had enjoyed his vacation, so he would be busy when he got back.
Fortunately, he slept on the plane, and he wasn't sleepy at all while filming two scenes tonight.
Late at night, he returned to his lounge to rest and habitually took out his phone from his bag to check for new messages.
There was indeed a text message from Kim Tae-yeon on his phone, but he was curious about its content.
"What do I like? Why are you suddenly asking me this question?"
The question was short, but it took Jiang Youzhen a long time to answer it.
He didn't really have any likes or dislikes, so he couldn't come up with a reason and could only answer truthfully.
But there was one thing he was certain of.
He is a bit of a picky eater.
Even if he hadn't said it, Kim Tae-yeon had already figured it out, so she wasn't surprised at all when she received Kang Woo-jin's reply.
It was already late. She lay in bed, looking at the text messages on her phone. After thinking for a moment, she honestly explained why she wanted to give him a return gift, but she didn't know what Jiang Youzhen liked, which was why she asked so directly.
She felt that if she was more direct, Jiang Youzhen might be able to understand her meaning more easily.
There was a long silence on the other end of the phone before Jiang Youzhen replied.
The girl thought it would be a very good answer, but the content surprised her.
"If this is a return gift, perhaps after your debut, could I use a short clip of one of your songs in my movie?"
Kim Tae-yeon rubbed her eyes, and after confirming that she wasn't seeing things, she, who didn't have much of a plan for her future, replied very seriously with an "okay".
After debuting...
He really has confidence in himself.
.
The next morning, the alarm clock rang again throughout the dormitory. Kim Tae-yeon had gone to bed late the night before and was once again the last one to move into the bathroom to wash up.
While Tiffany urged her to put on her shoes, she kept track of the time. Once she was all ready, Kim Tae-yeon slowly went to change her clothes.
"Taeyeon, hurry up, or we won't be able to buy breakfast again."
"Don't worry, you won't have trouble buying it. If all else fails, we'll just have some bread."
Exhausted and sleep-deprived, it was the perfect time for her to sleep in, so she didn't care about whether she could have a hot breakfast.
Kim Tae-yeon cheered herself up, changed her clothes, and followed Tiffany out of the dormitory at Tiffany's urging.
Out of habit, she took out her phone and, as always, saw a message from Jiang Youzhen. The text message was sent around 5 p.m. and the content was very simple.
Mads-Oh had previously said he would treat everyone to dinner, so he asked if she was free these past two days. Also, Mads-Oh asked all of them, not just Kim Tae-yeon.
These are all Mads-Oh's little tricks. He likes to meet new friends and expand his network, which originally had nothing to do with the trainees.
It's only natural that the father cares about his good son, who has been longing for a girl for so many years.
The more people at a dinner party, the longer the meal will take.
When Jiang Youzhen heard Mads-Oh's idea, he was actually somewhat resistant.
He wasn't used to sitting and eating with so many girls around, or that they could be seated at two separate tables, but Mads Wu said that if it were just the three of them, it would make the girls even more uncomfortable.
Mads Wu is warm and kind, good-looking, and has a refined demeanor. With the added filter of being a Hollywood actor, these teenage girls only think that this uncle is great in every way.
So when Kim Tae-yeon brought it up, they nodded in agreement before she even finished speaking.
However, they have been busy practicing this week, and the head of the practice room is keeping a close eye on them. It was mentioned before that more people would be added to the practice room, so they haven't dared to move around much these past few days.
Kim Tae-yeon replied to Kang Woo-jin truthfully, explaining that it was probably not possible this week.
Jiang Youzhen replied quickly: if this week doesn't work, then let's set it for next weekend. He also needs to perform well on set during these few days, since he has taken so many days off.
Even if Huang Renlei likes him a lot, he must have some resentment in his heart.
On set, his current role is that of an actor, and sometimes pleasing the director is more important than acting well.
It was still early, and the actors gradually came out of the dressing room. They saw Kang Woo-jin sitting with the director, watching the footage from last night's shoot, and they were all somewhat emotional.
This is truly a society that's incredibly demanding. You can give up if you want, just wait and see if the director scolds you or not.
Kang Woo-jin learned some camera control techniques from Hwang In-rae, and only returned to his seat when it was time to start filming. He had just put on his coat when Joo Ji-hoon and Song Ji-hyo came over.
The two approached each other at the same time, one holding a box of raspberries and the other holding a coffee, looking as if they had something to say to each other.
Jiang Youzhen didn't take it immediately. Instead, he looked at them, somewhat reluctantly creating some distance, and asked, "Gentlemen, is there something you need?"
Song Ji-hyo readily handed the raspberries to Kang Woo-jin, chuckling, "They're a local specialty from my hometown. They taste really good. I brought them for you all. Everyone else has some, but you're the only one missing."
Hearing this, Jiang Youzhen nodded in acceptance and thanked him. Then, noticing Zhu Zhixun's somewhat unfocused gaze, he felt a chill run down his spine and knew something was wrong.
Could this melancholy guy be asking me to do something for him, or is he trying to ask me for a favor?
Since there was another actor present, Joo Ji-hoon didn't say anything directly. He placed the coffee on top of the box of raspberries and smiled, "This coffee was bought by my manager. You stayed up all night filming yesterday, so have a cup of coffee to perk you up. By the way, are you free later at noon? We can go over our lines."
The way you're asking makes it seem like I'm not free, even if I am.
Jiang You suppressed his inner complaints and awkwardly laughed, "I had lunch plans with my mom, so..."
Upon hearing this, Zhu Zhixun's smile froze for a moment, then he nodded, made up an excuse, and left.
Song Ji-hyo glanced at his retreating figure, then gave a forced smile and whispered, "Woo-jin, Ji-hoon has been getting close to the writer. I don't know where he found out, but he said the writer has a new project, and he hasn't given a clear response yet, so he came to you. It's probably... because of this."
"Is that so?" Jiang Youzhen subconsciously raised an eyebrow. He was somewhat surprised. Zhu Zhixun had only just entered the entertainment industry, and he was already starting to make connections?
As expected... actors are all quite cunning.
