Chapter 15 Pressure from Group A
Chapter 15 Pressure from Group A
Half an hour ago.
A staff member pushed open the door and told the trainees in the trial training group to go to the large practice room.
"This is Lee Soo-man's idea, to have you evaluate together with Group A."
Everyone was stunned.
Should we evaluate them together with Group A?
The atmosphere in the room instantly turned somber.
Everyone is aware of the gap between the trial group and Group A.
Group A trainees have received more training time and more course resources, and some have even been included in the company's key monitoring list.
The trial training group is, in the end, just a trial training. They wear temporary certificates around their necks, and once the evaluation is over at the end of the month, some of them may never be able to enter this building again.
Someone rubbed their face with their palms, as if trying to make sure this wasn't a dream.
Not far away, a trainee muttered to himself, "Is the company planning to just fire us?"
The voice was very soft, but it made several people's expressions change.
Jiang Tang stood in the crowd and followed the group toward the large practice room.
When I pushed open the door, Group A had already arrived.
Most people were chatting casually and seemed very relaxed.
As soon as the trial training group entered, they were like a group of newcomers suddenly thrust into the spotlight, even their breathing became more cautious than usual.
Jiang Tang glanced over and immediately recognized many of the people.
Leeteuk stood slightly forward in the middle, exuding a gentle demeanor.
He doesn't seem like the most eye-catching one, but he's very good at taking care of those around him.
The male trainee next to me with a loud voice is Yesung.
Eunhyuk leaned against the wall and moved his shoulders and legs; it was clear from his movements that he had a solid foundation in martial arts.
Lee Donghae stood on the other side, with clean features and bright eyes, exuding a youthful charm that made him very approachable.
Further afield, there are also Han Geng, Shindong, Choi Siwon, Kim Kibum, and others.
Looking at these people, Jiang Tang suddenly had a strange feeling.
He seemed to be standing in front of a photograph that had not yet fully developed, witnessing the birth of Super Junior.
Just then, a lazy voice suddenly rang out from in front of Jiang Tang.
"Oh, Jiang Tang."
Kim Heechul leaned against Group A's side, a smile on his handsome face.
"We meet again."
Jiang Tang was not intimidated at all and responded with a smile.
"Heechul sunbaenim looks as beautiful as ever today."
Kim Heechul was just wearing ordinary practice clothes and his hair wasn't styled properly, but his face still stood out too much in the crowd.
Kim Heechul glanced at the door, then looked back at Jiang Tang, his smile deepening.
"Your 'good friend' has come to see you."
Outside the door, Yoona, Jessica Jung, Sooyoung, and others all turned to look at Tae-yeon.
Kim Tae-yeon's face immediately turned red.
"Heechul sunbaenim wasn't talking about me!"
Jiang Tang glanced at Kim Tae-yeon, a smile appearing in his eyes.
"Pressure is a motivator, isn't it?"
Kim Heechul chuckled upon hearing this.
"You're not pretending, kid."
Eunhyuk, who was stretching his ankles nearby, glanced at Jiang Tang upon hearing this and interjected with a smile, "Does Heechul hyung know him?"
"I met him once; his name is Jiang Tang."
As Kim Heechul spoke, he glanced towards the door and smiled even more ambiguously.
"He's really good at flirting with girls."
Eunhyuk immediately became interested, "Kang Tang-ssi, let's chat sometime."
Jiang Tang smiled at Eunhyuk, but seemed not to understand Kim Heechul's teasing.
But outside the door, Kim Tae-yeon had already secretly turned her face away.
Soon, the judges took their seats.
Lee Soo-man sat in the middle, Yoo Young-jin sat to his right, and Han Jung-hoon stood beside him, holding an evaluation form.
After the dance and vocal teachers sat down, the noise in the large practice room disappeared.
Han Zhengxun opened the folder.
"Today's evaluation is divided into two parts."
"Group dance, individual performances."
He looked up at the crowd, his gaze lingering particularly on the trial group.
The trainees in the trial training group tensed up.
Han Zhengxun did not offer any further explanation.
"Group A goes first."
Group A trainees walk towards the evaluation area.
Kim Tae-yeon, Im Yoon-ah, and the other onlookers quieted down.
The music is ringing.
It's TVXQ's "The Way U Are".
As soon as the melody started, the trial group knew why Group A was Group A.
This song itself has a powerful feel to it.
The drumbeats are clean, and the melody is particularly compelling as it progresses.
Once the trainees in Group A started playing music, their relaxed state immediately disappeared, and the entire group seemed to be tightened up by some force at the same time.
Once the formation was set up, the visual impact immediately dominated the entire practice room.
Their movements were clean and efficient, with almost no unnecessary swaying.
When the front row moves forward, the back row immediately fills the empty space.
When the chorus burst forth, Han Geng, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, and Kim Heechul all looked up at the same time. The impact of that moment was more like a rehearsal before the official music show performance than an end-of-month evaluation.
The trial training group fell completely silent.
Some people initially held onto a sliver of hope, thinking that no matter how strong Group A was, they were still just trainees.
But after actually seeing this group dance, that bit of luck completely disappeared.
These people are already just as good as some debuted idols.
Like Leeteuk, every time he switches positions, he always manages to make the connection of the whole team very comfortable.
Eunhyuk, on the other hand, evokes a completely different feeling.
As soon as the chorus started, his dance skills immediately became apparent.
Light body, quick reaction, and the rhythm of the footsteps is perfectly in sync with the drumbeat.
The expressions of the few people in the trial group with poor dance skills changed as they watched.
When Lee Donghae stands to the side, he exudes a youthful charm that is perfectly suited for the stage.
When he looked up in the mirror, he seemed to be living under the light.
The one who is hardest to ignore is Kim Heechul.
During the chorus, he turns his head, and even though there are people next to him who dance even better, your attention will still be drawn to him.
Jiang Tang looked at Kim Heechul and couldn't help but feel a sense of emotion.
"Some people are born to be favored by the camera when they step onto the stage."
The music ended.
Group A bowed in unison.
There was a two-second silence in the evaluation room.
The dance teacher nodded repeatedly and said, "Not bad, the overall execution is quite good."
Yoo Young-jin looked at Eun-hyuk.
"Eunhyuk, your dance foundation is very good, and your rhythm is also clean. But be careful not to get too caught up in your own movements; in group dances, you need to lead the people around you."
Eunhyuk nodded seriously.
"Yes, I will be careful."
Lee Soo-man then looked at Kim Hee-chul.
"Heechul, your foundation is still not strong enough. You need to keep practicing."
"But you know how to capture attention. You need to maintain that advantage and not let your fundamentals hold you back."
Kim Heechul was not surprised and nodded slightly.
"Thank you, teacher."
Lee Soo-man nodded slightly.
But this lackluster experience made the trial group even more uncomfortable.
Even if Group A jumps to this level, they will only get a "good" rating.
Then what are they?
On the judges' panel, Lee Soo-man saw their reaction but did not immediately stop them.
He wanted to see it too.
Faced with this disparity, how will these trainees react?
"How can we even compare like this?"
I don't know who said it first in a low voice.
"Did the company put us together with Group A to see us make a fool of ourselves?"
"If I had known it would turn out like this, I would have been better off not training at all..."
Whispers, one after another, spread oppressively through the crowd.
These are things they wouldn't normally dare to say.
But when the gap is truly laid bare, panic is like a black cloth suddenly pulled back, revealing the most cowardly parts of everyone's heart.
Park Jung-woo, who had previously spoken sarcastically to Jiang Tang, had a cold expression on his face, and his voice sounded like it was being squeezed out from between his teeth.
"We're just in the trial group; there aren't many of us who will stay anyway."
The tense atmosphere immediately subsided.
Before it was even their turn to go on stage, some of them were already trembling.
On the judges' panel, Han Zhengxun watched this scene with a cold eye, as if he had expected the trial group to react this way.
Lee Soo-man's expression was unreadable.
Yu Yongzhen frowned slightly.
Outside the door, Kim Tae-yeon also sensed something was wrong. Would Kang Tang be affected by this?
Just then, a cold, sharp voice suddenly rang out.
"So you're scared?"
The trial group members all turned their heads.
On the other side of Group A, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Han Geng, and others also subconsciously looked over.
Upon hearing this, Kim Heechul raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of interest appearing in his beautiful eyes.
Jiang Tang walked into the crowd, looked at the trainees in the trial group, and his gaze was so calm it seemed he was asking them a question—
The evaluation hasn't even started, and you're already ready to admit defeat?
