Chapter 739 - 710: Love in a Parallel Universe [032]

The black Volvo was parked outside the red-walled villa, countless specks of dust dancing in the car’s low-beam headlights.Simon Forrester held Sienna Thorne in his arms, expressing his concerns in a low voice about her commuting by subway or taxi.

"If you have a car, sometimes when I can’t take you home, you can drive yourself back, and I’d feel more at ease."

Sienna smiled: "You’re right, not having a car is inconvenient. I’ll ask my dad to buy me one."

"I’ll buy it," Simon insisted, "Tonight when you get home, go online and look at cars. Once you find one you like, let me know, and I’ll have Harrison Rowe order it for you at the dealership."

"Okay."

Sienna had been with him for several days, understanding his temperament well. She knew she couldn’t argue with him at the moment, so she feigned agreement.

There was no way she would actually let Simon buy her a car.

Usually, Simon would give her small gifts, and when the two of them went out to eat and drink, Simon always paid. She felt she was already taking advantage of him a lot, and if he also bought her a car, she would feel very uneasy.

But Simon was so insistent, as if he wouldn’t let her leave unless she agreed tonight. To make him go home earlier, she pretended to agree, planning to delay it for a few days.

When Simon dropped her off at the door, he reminded her again: "Remember to look at cars after your shower."

She laughed and said, "Okay," urging him to go back home: "Drive carefully, and call me when you get home." After saying that, she waved her hand at him and turned into the yard.

Already about to enter the house, she turned around and saw Simon still standing in the cold wind, watching her. She waved at him again and directly entered her home.

Melinda Linton was watching TV in the living room, and Quentin Thorne was reading in the study. Sienna greeted her parents and went back to her room.

After her shower, while applying skincare products, she gazed in a trance at the circle ring on her left ring finger, a smile emerging at the corner of her lips, adding a touch of certainty in her heart.

A few days ago, she was still in low spirits, but today, because of a ring from Simon, it was as if everything had settled into place.

So silly.

...

Knowing that Simon worried about her safety when she returned home late, Sienna didn’t go to the design firm to see him after work on Monday. Instead, she brought breakfast for him from Tuesday to Friday morning.

She usually arrived at the design firm at seven, had breakfast with him, and then they would stay and snuggle in the office for a while after eating.

A few days ago, Simon scolded Harrison Rowe because Sienna was once stopped by security in the cold. Harrison was unfairly implicated and had nowhere to vent his anger, so he went to berate the security guards for half an hour.

Now the security guards knew Sienna was the rightful partner of the Director, and not only did they not dare to stop her, but every morning when Sienna came to knock on the door, they would diligently open the main entrance for her, bowing and scraping as they sent her inside.

At exactly 8:15 in the morning that day, Simon once again escorted Sienna downstairs, accompanying her as she waited for a taxi on the street side.

In the cold wind, most of the girl’s body was sheltered in the embrace of the tall man.

In the security office,

The security guard coming to take over the shift saw the scene and asked his colleague, "What’s Director Forrester doing standing there with that girl?"

"That’s Director Forrester’s girlfriend! Recently, he’s been working overtime at night, and she brings him breakfast every morning at seven. Director Forrester must see her downstairs at this time every day, no matter the weather."

The speaker was the same security guard who got scolded by Harrison Rowe for stopping Sienna outside.

The security guard who had been off duty for the past few days was unaware and was surprised: "Isn’t Director Forrester’s girlfriend Jane Sinclair?"

"Shh—Jane Sinclair has been fired; you can’t mention her anymore. Assistant Rhodes said, whoever mentions her gets kicked out!"

...

Simon Forrester got Sienna into the car and returned to the office to give some work instructions. Only then did he go up to the dormitory on the fourth floor to take a shower and catch up on some sleep. He had just fallen asleep when someone suddenly shook him awake.

He opened his eyes and looked at the person.

Harrison Rowe’s panic-stricken face was magnified in front of him.

"Boss, your mother has come over. She’s in your office right now..."

Simon raised a hand to rub his forehead, then closed his eyes again to gather himself before getting up with a surly expression, heading for the bathroom to freshen up.

By the time he came out, Harrison had already prepared his shirt and clothes.

Simon put on his trousers and a white undershirt, finally layering a denim shirt over them, slipped his phone into his pocket, and went downstairs.

In the office, Sylvia Langley, dressed in a fur coat and wearing an English-style hat, sat gracefully in the middle of the sofa, her chin raised high, looking down at Logan Lockwood who was sitting to the side with a forced smile, sharply asking, "Who decided to dismiss Nina Sinclair?"

Logan did not dare to speak.

Sylvia continued to threaten, "If none of you give me an explanation today, don’t even think about continuing business here! I’ll take back the land!"

Simon happened to walk in as he heard this, his expression cold as he sat next to Logan and said plainly, "Nina Sinclair violated company rules. It was my order to dismiss her."

Sylvia fumed, "What regulation did she breach to warrant you, the director, personally handling this personnel issue?"

Simon chuckled, answering with a question instead: "And what reason is important enough for you to come all the way from Franland to interrogate me?"

Sylvia was enraged, exclaiming, "Because Nina Sinclair is my future daughter-in-law!"

"Is that so?" Simon leaned back against the sofa, his long legs casually crossed, and said slowly, "Did I agree to that?"

Harrison and Logan both realized that the mother and son were about to argue, quickly finding an excuse to slip away. Before leaving, they even helped Simon close the office door.

Seeing it was just her and her son now, Sylvia dropped the pretense and lowered her voice to ask, "What are you doing? You dismissed Nina Sinclair just to mingle with those other messy women outside?"

Simon frowned, looking at Sylvia with disgust: "If you’ve come here today just to say these things, then you can leave. If you want to take back the design firm’s land, go home and ask Grandpa if he agrees. If he does, I’ll move out immediately!"

After saying that, he got up to open the door: "Harrison, see her out!" Then he went back up to the fourth floor without giving Sylvia another glance.

Harrison watched Simon leave, and nervously braved entering the office, but he dared not ask Sylvia to leave, so he stood there waiting for her to go.

Sylvia sat there fuming for a while, not leaving, and even tried to coax information from Harrison: "Who is the woman my Jules found?"

Harrison didn’t dare say, whispered, "I don’t know."

"Go call young Lockwood in!"

"Oh." Harrison bowed slightly to Sylvia and went out to find Logan.

Upon hearing that the Empress Dowager Langley wanted to see him, Logan had a look of dread on his face, but in order to save the design firm’s land, he reluctantly went to meet her.

The Empress Dowager raised her chin, looking at Logan standing before her, and repeated, "Who is the woman my Jules found?"

Logan initially didn’t want to say, but with Sylvia threatening to take back the land and intimidating him with her plans to investigate, Logan steeled himself and straightforwardly stated, "A lawyer from Vantage."

"Vantage?!" Sylvia exploded, jumping to her feet, "I absolutely do not agree!"
