Chapter 304 Dinner Party
Chapter 304 Dinner Party
Jing Tian stood at the cockpit door and gently touched a button on the control panel with her finger.
Of course, it's just a prop; pressing it won't do anything.
But she still touched it carefully, then withdrew her hand, as if afraid of breaking something precious.
"Go in and see if you want."
Fu Yibai's voice came from behind.
Jing Tian turned around, met his gaze, smiled slightly, and then stepped into the cockpit.
She sat down in Dr. Brand's seat, placed her hands on the control panel, and scanned the dense array of buttons before finally settling on the porthole directly in front of her.
Outside the porthole was a huge green screen, but her eyes looked as if she were looking at real stars.
Fu Yibai leaned against the cockpit door, watching her back.
This girl has lost a lot of weight.
When I saw her last year, her face still had a bit of baby fat. Now her jawline has become much more defined, and her collarbone is showing through the neckline of her T-shirt, forming two delicate curves.
"Brother Yibai."
Jing Tian didn't turn around; her voice came from the cockpit, with a slight echo.
"Thank you?"
"Huh? What are you thanking me for?"
Fu Yibai was somewhat puzzled by the girl's sudden thank you.
"It's nothing."
Jing Tian shook her head, offering no explanation.
The studio fell silent.
In the distance, the lighting technician is adjusting the lighting for the next scene, and the softbox moves slowly along its track, emitting a soft hum.
Someone was shouting, but most of the sound was swallowed up by the sound-absorbing material on the ceiling, and by the time it reached us, it had become a muffled buzzing sound.
"Alright, stop taking up Dr. Brand's spot."
Fu Yibai walked over and gently patted her on the head.
"When Fan Binbin comes back and sees you sitting in her chair, she'll be furious with you."
Jing Tian stuck out her tongue and stood up from the driver's seat.
"Brother Yibai."
"Um?"
Are you free tonight? I'd like to invite you to dinner.
Fu Yibai turned his head to look at her.
"How can I let you pay? I'll do it."
"That's okay~"
Jing Tian's lips curved slightly, but she quickly pursed them.
She turned around and walked out of the cockpit, her steps lighter than when she came in.
At 6:30 p.m., Fu Yibai announced that work was done.
When Fan Binbin came out of the dressing room, she had already removed her makeup and changed into casual clothes.
Wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt, light gray casual pants, and her hair casually tied in a low ponytail, she transformed from Dr. Brand back into Fan Binbin.
"Where is Jing Tian?"
She walked over and glanced around the photography studio.
"They're waiting at the door."
"Let's go then."
Outside the photography studio, Jing Tian leaned against the black van, looking down at her phone.
The afterglow of the setting sun bathed her in its light, turning her white T-shirt a pale gold.
Hearing footsteps, she looked up and saw three people walking out side by side.
"Sister Binbin."
She greeted him with a smile, her tone natural.
Fan Binbin walked over and naturally took Jing Tian's hand.
"Let's go, I'm hungry."
Guo Zhenni made a reservation at an Italian restaurant near Beverly Hills.
The four people sat down by the window.
Fu Yibai and Fan Binbin sat on one side, while Jing Tian and Guo Zhenni sat opposite them.
The waiter handed over the menu, which Fan Binbin flipped open. He then skillfully ordered several dishes: seafood pasta, roasted lamb chops, Caesar salad, and tiramisu.
"What would you like to drink?"
She looked up at Jing Tian.
"Red wine bar".
Jing Tian paused, then added.
"It doesn't need to be too good, anything will do."
Fan Binbin smiled, closed the menu, and said a string of Italian to the waiter.
The waiter nodded, took the menu, and left.
Jing Tian was stunned for a moment.
"Sister Binbin, you speak Italian?"
"I learned it while filming in Hollywood."
Fan Binbin picked up his water glass, took a sip, and spoke casually.
"I've traveled to many countries in the past few years, and I can speak a few words in English, Italian, and French."
"You can't do it without it, no one on set will accommodate you."
Jing Tian was silent for a moment, then softly hummed in agreement.
The red wine was served first.
The waiter opened the bottle and poured a small half-glass for each person.
Fan Binbin picked up his wine glass and raised it towards Jing Tian.
"Come on, let's have the first drink to welcome our little sister Jing Tian."
The four wine glasses clinked together, making a crisp sound.
Jing Tian took a sip of wine and put down the glass. The astringent taste of the red wine spread on her tongue, and she frowned slightly, but quickly relaxed.
"How is it?"
Fan Binbin asked.
"good."
Jing Tian smiled.
"It was much better than what we drank at the wrap party."
"Of course, those foreigners are so stingy, how could they possibly be willing to buy such good red wine?"
Fan Binbin pursed his lips, his tone carrying a certain confidence of someone who had been through it all.
"When filming in Hollywood, don't expect them to take care of you in the details."
Food, drink, and lodging—you have to take care of everything yourself.
Jing Tian nodded.
The dishes were served one after another.
The seafood pasta is coated with tomato sauce, shrimp, and mussels; the roasted lamb chops are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; and the shredded cheese in the Caesar salad gleams with a faint golden hue under the light.
Fu Yibai picked up a fork and rolled up a ball of spaghetti.
Fan Binbin cut a small piece of lamb chop and put it on Jing Tian's plate.
"Try it, their lamb chops are their specialty."
"Thank you, Sister Binbin."
Jing Tian cut off a small piece, put it in her mouth, chewed it, and nodded.
"tasty."
But she only ate that one piece before putting down her knife and fork.
Fu Yibai saw it all but said nothing.
Fan Binbin noticed it too, exchanged a glance with Fu Yibai, then picked up his wine glass, speaking casually as if he were talking about the weather.
"Jing Tian, what movies did you film during your year in Hollywood?"
