Chapter 6 Shen Bing
Chapter 6 Shen Bing
Lin Yu looked down at the photo again.
He looked very slowly, noting the angle of the bloodstains, the posture of the body lying on the ground, and the few inconspicuous scratches in the corner of the wall.
"There were no signs of a struggle at the scene. Either the perpetrator was someone the victim knew, or the perpetrator was so strong that the victim didn't have time to react."
Old Chen exhaled a puff of smoke: "Continue."
Lin Yu pointed to the deceased's photo:
"The killer used three different abilities, and mental shock-type methods of death are not uncommon, but the intensity that can completely dissolve brain tissue... is at least that of a Sequence 7 or higher mental extraordinary."
A piece of Old Chen's cigarette ash fell off.
"Sequence 7? Are you sure?"
"uncertain."
Lin Yu closed the file:
"This is just speculation. The killer is either a composite extraordinary individual with multiple abilities, or an extremely well-coordinated team."
Old Chen remained silent and lit another cigarette.
"Do you know who these three dead people are?"
"The case file states that he was a laid-off worker from a textile factory."
"It's fake. That woman is called Sister Hong. She's Chen Tianxiong's goods manager."
The two men were her bodyguards, both of whom were Sequence Nine Extraordinary Beings.
Someone has stolen Chen Tianxiong's goods.
Lin Yu raised an eyebrow. No wonder the police station took it so seriously.
However, this matter doesn't seem to be within his jurisdiction as a Level 3 agent.
Lin Yu simply took it as Old Chen's appreciation of him.
"These are the pieces of evidence left at the scene."
Old Chen took a transparent evidence bag out of his pocket and threw it on the table.
Inside the bag was a fan-shaped metal fragment, about the size of a fingernail, which appeared to be four pieces that could be pieced together to form a complete circle.
"The technical department said that this metal is a high-purity spiritual conductor, but its specific function is unknown. For now, it has been named Anchor Fragment."
Lin Yu picked up the evidence bag and examined it under the light.
The fracture surface of the fragment is very fresh:
"This thing has probably been used for no more than forty-eight hours," Lin Yu thought to himself.
But a month has passed since the case was filed, which is obviously strange.
Seeing Lin Yu deep in thought, Old Chen walked to the window and opened the blinds a crack.
"Kobayashi, if you were the murderer, would you leave any traces of yourself when you were setting up the ceremony?"
"No," Lin Yu said.
"Unless it was intentional."
"Was this fragment left behind intentionally?"
Lin Yu raised an eyebrow. "You're asking me? Who should I ask?"
He could only say, based on his intuition, "This fragment does look like it was deliberately broken off and thrown there."
"Who should see it?"
"I don't know, let's leave it to someone who can understand it..."
The killer may be sending a message...
Old Chen turned around, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
"What information?"
"I don't know." Lin Yu waved his hand.
Old Chen stared at Lin Yu for ten seconds, then chuckled twice.
He didn't ask any more questions, put out his cigarette, and put away the evidence bag.
"Don't tell anyone about what happened today."
Lin Yu nodded: "Then this case..."
"I will report to the Director and suggest that it be transferred to the Special Incidents Bureau."
But as you know, in a place like Jiangcheng, where would they find a special incident department? In the end, it'll most likely be suppressed.
He patted Lin Yu on the shoulder: "Let's go back."
Lin Yu walked out of the archives room; the corridor was empty.
He glanced at the clock on the wall; it was 3:40 PM.
There was still more than an hour before he was supposed to leave work, but instead of returning to his workstation, he went straight downstairs and walked out of the police station.
It has to be said that having a job in the police force in this chaotic world is really quite good.
It's like they're receiving government funding.
Colleagues get along well, love each other, and are appreciated.
Of course, the current crisis is not yet resolved, so Lin Yu dares not be careless.
The wind on the street carried a damp, chilly feel.
He walked to a street corner stall, bought a bottle of cheap sparkling water, and took two sips.
The analysis I just did is still replaying in my mind.
Anchoring debris...
I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling of familiarity about it.
Lin Yu shook his head. Although he had lost his memory, he only possessed memories of his past life.
But he is a police officer, a third-level detective, number 9527, with a clean record.
......
The deputy commissioner's office is on the third floor of the police station.
Shen Bing stood by the window, watching Lin Yu walk out the door, turn the corner, and disappear from sight.
Behind her, Old Chen stood with his hands at his sides.
"How is it?"
Shen Bing turned around.
Today she was wearing a dark gray uniform skirt suit, which perfectly accentuated her waist and hip proportions, with the slit revealing glimpses of her thighs covered in black stockings.
She was tall and slender, wearing high heels, and her short white hair was perfectly styled.
Old Chen lowered his head, not daring to look at her, and respectfully said:
"Your Excellency Shen Bing, after being guided, the criminal Lin Yu now fully believes in his identity as an agent."
However, I haven't figured out his abilities yet, nor the location of that shipment.
It just felt like... he was an ordinary person from beginning to end.
Shen Bing tapped her fingers lightly on the table.
"Continue to observe."
"Yes."
"Let him continue to handle the warehouse case."
Shen Bing asked, "Did he see that anchor fragment?"
"He saw it, but he didn't say anything."
They might know nothing, or they might... pretend not to know.
Shen Bing nodded slightly: "Send someone to follow him and see what he's going to do when he goes out."
"clear!"
Old Chen gave a standard military salute.
